In addition, a localized heavy rain tends to increase recently, large damages such as road flooding and inundation above/below house floor level occurred (in Aug, 2014.). To prevent them, for example, there is a method to increase the drainage capacity by the drainage pipe diameter much larger than existing one.

　北海道の中でも深川市は雪の深い街であり、多くの人々にとって除雪に対する悩ましい問題が山積します。
　特に、道路の雪は通行の支障となり、放っておけば住宅地があっという間に“陸の孤島”と化してしまいます。 また、緊急車両の通行にも遅れが生じ、最悪の場合は通行不能となって、助かる命にも大きな影響を与える恐れがあります。
　除雪をしなければ人々の生活そのものが成り立たなくなるため、毎日の通勤・通学の始まる時間帯の前には、除雪作業を終了させなければなりません。
　このため、深夜3時頃から除雪を始め、使命感の高い職員が一丸となって除雪事業に取り組んでいます。

Fukagawa City has so much of snowfall in Hokkaido, because of this, there are annoying problems about snow removal for many people.
Especially, snow on the road becomes hindrance to traffic, and if we don't any actions, our town will turn into "a solitary island on land" immediately.
Moreover, emergency vehicles will be delayed to the destination, or stopped in the worst case, there is a risk of having a great influence on the life.
Since people can't live without doing snow removal, our work have to finish it before the commuting hours every times.
For above reasons, we have to start snow removal from around 3 o'clock in the morning, and our staffs are working together with great pride.

　橋の上部構造（アーチ部）の雪降ろしは、その下を走る車に氷雪が落下して衝突するのを防ぐ目的で行います。
